The National Institute of Building Sciences is proud to announce sponsorship of the Cal Poly Pomona team participating in the Orange County Sustainability Decathlon 2023 (OCSD23).

OCSD23 challenges university teams to design and build model solar-powered homes that address climate change and California’s housing needs. It aims to empower future generations to lead the state’s transition to 100% renewables.

Cal Poly Pomona has been accepted as one of 18 university teams to compete in OCSD23. The competition takes place October 5-15, 2023, in Costa Mesa, California. The team is being led by Sunai Kim, with a large team of co-team members and students.

Teams will showcase innovative, market-ready model homes to display in a sustainable village that will be open to the public.

NIBS is providing the Cal Poly Pomona team with a complimentary Enterprise license to the United States National CAD Standard v6.

NCS is a consensus standard incorporating industry publications. It is the only comprehensive standard for facility planning, design, construction and operation drawings. NCS consists of the American Institute of Architect's CAD Layer Guidelines, Construction Specifications Institute's Uniform Drawing System (Modules 1-8), and National Institute of Building Sciences' BIM Implementation & Plotting Guidelines.
