Data-Driven Partnering: Collaboration That Counts
(WASHINGTON, DC, October 19, 2022) – "Last Thursday, October 13, 2022, the Biden-Harris Administration announced new efforts and an action plan to accelerate the rebuilding of our nation's infrastructure, during the White House Accelerating Infrastructure Summit.
The National Institute of Building Sciences wholeheartedly supports all efforts to adhere to the higher standard of "on time, on task, and on budget."
Our communities have long needed this investment. While federal agencies are fully focused on accelerating the pace of design, construction and permitting, local and building industry partners must help deliver these complex projects.
We applaud the action plan's initiatives to provide targeted technical assistance to new recipients of federal funding, including smaller, rural and traditionally under-served communities with less experience and expertise. NIBS supports the improvement of agency coordination, leading to better project outcomes and addressing causes of schedule and cost challenges.
We also appreciate the Administration's investment to hire and train new workers to fulfill these projects. Rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure already is a monumental task, and it cannot happen without a trained, qualified, and diverse workforce.
NIBS is ready to assist the Administration with any part of the coordination of this incredible plan."
National Institute of Building Sciences brings together labor and consumer interests, government representatives, regulatory agencies, and members of the building industry to identify and resolve problems and potential issues around the built environment. NIBS is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. For more information, visit nibs.org or follow @bldgsciences on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
