ASAE Research Foundation, 84 Lumber Co. and NIBS Collaborate to Celebrate Women in the Building Industry

The ASAE Foundation and 84 Lumber are sponsoring the May virtual meeting of the Women Executives in Building Leadership Series

(WASHINGTON, DC, April 12, 2021) – The National Institute of Building Sciences has secured sponsorship for the Women Executives in Building: Virtual Leadership Series from the ASAE Research Foundation and 84 Lumber Company.

The ASAE Research Foundation advances association and nonprofit leadership, focusing on three important areas: research, leadership, and innovation. 84 Lumber is a woman-owned and -operated business certified through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. The company operates more than 250 stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops, and engineered wood product centers.

Women Executives in Building brings together thought leaders from the C-suite of the built environment,” says Lakisha A. Woods, CAE, President and CEO of NIBS. “By convening, we come up with solutions to the many challenges we face in this industry. We are grateful to the ASAE Foundation and 84 Lumber Company for their commitment to this important mission.”

NIBS hosted the first annual Women Executives in Building Summit in October 2019. In 2020, NIBS hosted five Women Executives in Building virtual leadership meetings, covering topics like serving your respective customers in a time of crisis, strategies to increase diversity and inclusion, work/life balance, and mentorship.

The next Women Executives in Building virtual meeting – What is an Elevator Pitch, and How Can It Help Advance Your Career? – takes place May 25. Visit nibs.org/events/women-executives-building for more information.
