Consultative Council Recommendations Build on 2014 Industry Priorities

Today, the National Institute of Building Sciences Consultative Council released its 2015 report, Moving Forward: Findings and Recommendations from the Consultative Council, during its Annual Meeting, held as part of Building Innovation 2016: The National Institute of Building Sciences Annual Conference and Expo.

Every year, the Consultative Council prepares, as outlined in the Institute’s enabling legislation, a report of findings and recommendations to the President of the United States and the U.S. Congress that is included in the Institute’s Annual Report.

Consultative Council to Host Briefing During High Performance Building Week

The National Institute of Building Sciences Consultative Council will host a briefing during High Performance Building Week to highlight its 2015 Moving Forward Report. The Congressional luncheon briefing, “Achieving a High-Performance Built Environment: Findings and Recommendations from the Consultative Council,” will be held Thursday, June 16, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2253, in Washington, D.C.

Each year, the Consultative Council brings together key stakeholders from across the industry to examine the challenges and opportunities before both the industry and the nation. This briefing will provide insight from the Council’s 2015 report and focus on assuring a strong building industry workforce, advancing community resilience and assuring policies and regulations support the cost-effective achievement of a high-performance built environment.

Today, the National Institute of Building Sciences Consultative Council released its 2016 report, Moving Forward: Findings and Recommendations from the Consultative Council, during its Annual Meeting, held as part of Building Innovation 2017: The National Institute of Building Sciences Annual Conference and Expo.

The National Institute of Building Sciences Consultative Council brings together leading U.S. building industry organizations to identify the policies, practices and trends that hinder achieving the nation’s goals of realizing high-performance buildings and communities. Each year, the Council develops a Moving Forward Report to examine some of these challenges and offer findings and recommendations on how to overcome them. The summarized report becomes part of the Institute’s Annual Report, which goes to the President of the United States and the U.S. Congress.

2017 Moving Forward Report Looks to the Future

Yesterday, Monday, January 8, the National Institute of Building Sciences Consultative Council released its 2017 report, Moving Forward: Findings and Recommendations from the Consultative Council, during its Annual Meeting, held as part of Building Innovation 2018: The National Institute of Building Sciences Sixth Annual Conference and Expo.

The Consultative Council brings together representatives from leading organizations that represent all aspects of design, construction, operation and regulation to examine important issues before the industry. Each year, the Council develops a Moving Forward Report to examine some of these challenges and offer findings and recommendations on how to overcome them. The summarized report becomes part of the Institute’s Annual Report, which goes to the President of the United States and the U.S. Congress.
