Betty and Mort Marshall Memorial Scholarship

The establishment of this annual scholarship was made possible because of a generous endowment from Betty and Mort, a sponsorship from the National Institute of Building Sciences and contributions from friends, family and colleagues.

Nominations for The Betty and Mort Marshall Scholarship are open now through February 23, 2025.

In loving Memory of Betty & Mort Marshall, and in celebration of the distinguished career that Mort enjoyed with Betty’s support, a Memorial Scholarship has been established to promote diversity in the building sciences and benefit students pursuing a career in architecture and engineering at a Historically Black College or University.

NIBS DEI Leadership Award

The statistics show that improvement is needed to increase representation across the built environment. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award seeks to honor champions of diversity and celebrate their exemplary leadership in advancing DEI in the building industry. The Beyond Green™ High-Performance Building and Community Award

The award recognizes the initiatives that shape, inform and catalyze the high-performance building market, as well as the real-world application of high-performance design and construction practices.

High-performance buildings meet eight design objectives: sustainability, accessibility, aesthetics, cost-effectiveness, functionality, productivity, historical sensitivity, and safety and security. (Resilience falls within the ‘safety and security’ objective.) The Beyond Green™ Award distinguishes those projects and activities that best exemplify the attributes of high performance.
