In 2022, the National Institute of Building Sciences held a three-part event series that convened a group of experts within the built environment to discuss the impacts of data and information security regulations on the advancement of project delivery and operations using building information management (BIM). There is an increasing desire and practical demand for more efficient and collaborative digital delivery; however, cybersecurity threats to the built environment stemming from cyberterrorism and security breaches pose a real challenge to innovation and technology adoption.
