Building Innovation 2024 takes place May 22-24, in Washington, DC
(WASHINGTON, DC, January 16, 2024) – The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) today opened the awards process for Building Innovation 2024.
The call for awards nominations closes March 8.
Building Innovation is the premiere meeting for all who work to improve the built environment. The meeting will cover three key topics: Resilience, Technology, and Building Performance & Sustainability. It takes place May 22-24, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC.
“The awards committee is ready to collect nominations,” said Stephen T. Ayers, FAIA, Interim CEO of NIBS. “We encourage built environment professionals to submit the names of the leaders making a difference in this massive industry. It’s time to celebrate their work.”

NIBS also is collecting applications for the Betty and Mort Marshall Memorial Scholarship, which was established to promote diversity in the building sciences and benefit students pursuing a career in architecture and engineering at a historically Black college or university. The scholarship was started in 2020, in memory of the Marshalls. Mort was the first member of the National Institute of Building Sciences. The application deadline is February 23, 2024.
National Institute of Building Sciences brings together labor and consumer interests, government representatives, regulatory agencies, and members of the building industry to identify and resolve problems and potential issues around the built environment.
