Law joins the National Institute of Building Sciences from the American Institute of Architects, where she served as Managing Director for Public Policy & Federal Affairs
(WASHINGTON, DC, July 22, 2024) – The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) is proud to announce the appointment of Anne Law as Senior Vice President of Professional and Government Affairs.
“Anne joins NIBS as a critical member of our senior leader team and will leverage her considerable 18-year experience as a government affairs professional,” said Dr. George K. Guszcza, President & CEO of NIBS. “Anne will lead our engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with government entities at the federal, state, and local levels to support our strategic priorities in service to the public interest.”
Prior to joining NIBS, Law served as Managing Director for Public Policy and Federal Affairs with the American Institute of Architects. Her deep background in public policy and government affairs related to the built environment was developed throughout her eight-year tenure with AIA, which included holding key positions such as Director of State and Local Policy and Senior Director for Public Policy.
She also spent more than 10 years focused on federal appropriations, working for environmental nonprofit organizations and a lobbying and government relations firm specializing in federal community development policy. She received her Juris Doctorate from The Columbus School of Law at Catholic University and her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
The National Institute of Building Sciences is celebrating five decades of service to the built environment this year. NIBS was established in August 1974, by the U.S. Congress in the Housing and Community Development Act, Public Law 93-383.
National Institute of Building Sciences brings together labor and consumer interests, government representatives, regulatory agencies, and members of the building industry to identify and resolve problems and potential issues around the built environment.
