Kimon Onuma
President, ONUMA, Inc.

Kimon Onuma has a rich international background that has influenced his innovative approach to "Build Informed Environments." Onuma has contributed to the industry through over 40 BIMStorms, the most notable being the 24-hour BIMStorm LAX event in 2008, which received a prestigious 2008 AIA TAP Award. These BIM charrettes have been called the "Woodstock" of the building industry.

Onuma has presented at more than 400 events globally and authored numerous industry journals, including the influential 2006 AIA Report on Integrated Practice, "The 21st Century Practitioner." He has collaborated with federal agencies through NIBS, working with the Department of Defense Military Health System, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of State Overseas Building Operations.

Onuma’s unique approach emphasizes agile, lean, and implementable big ideas applicable throughout a facility's life-cycle. As a thought leader, he has served as the Past Chair of the Thought Leadership Subcommittee of the buildingSMART Alliance, 2013 AIA TAP Chair, and is an active member of the National Institute of Building Sciences Digital Twin Integration Subcommittee.

Marc Goldman
Director, AEC Industry, Esri

Marc Goldman is the Director of AEC Industry at Esri. He works with a global team to define and deliver the strategy for Esri’s solutions serving architecture, engineering and construction. He is a leading expert in BIM, GIS, and Digital Twins and their impact on the industry.

Goldman began his career in the first days of CAD, he led some of the earliest BIM efforts, and he has contributed nearly thirty years defining, developing, and delivering services and technologies for design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

He works with an international network of AEC executives creating joint ventures, partnerships and customer relationships. He is the vice-Chair of the NIBS Digital Twin Integration Subcommittee, co-Chair of the Digital Twin Consortium AECO group, and supports buildingSMART International on the Steering Committee for the Infrastructure Domain and the OGC+bSI Working Group.

Goldman studied Architecture and Engineering at Tulane University.

Zahra Ghorbani
BIM Manager, Office of Physical Plant, Department of Architectural Engineering, Penn State

Zahra Ghorbani is the BIM Manager at the Office of Physical Plant (OPP) and a PhD candidate at the Department of Architectural Engineering at Penn State. Her primary research focuses on defining and leveraging Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) and Digital Twins (DTs) for capital facilities’ operations.

Ghorbani’s other research interests include immersive technologies (e.g., AR, VR, XR) and automation in construction. She is an officer of the NIBS Digital Technology Council Board of Direction (BOD). She also holds the position of Vice Chair within the NIBS Digital Twin Integration (DTI) subcommittee, where she plays a leading role in establishing the connection between BIM and Digital Twins.

In her capacity as the BIM manager, Ghorbani is responsible for identifying and recommending improvements and best practices to incorporate into OPP’s BIM-related documents and processes to improve project execution and life cycle performance. In addition, she monitors and supports project teams in the execution of BIM on capital projects. Prior to joining Penn State, Ghorbani received a B.E. in architectural engineering from Shahid Beheshti University in Iran and thereafter relocated to the United States to complete her M.S. in construction management at Texas A&M University. Her master's research focused on using deep neural networks for oil spill detection and segmentation.

Scott McClure

As an interdisciplinary electrical engineer, enterprise architect, and strategic technology consultant, Scott McClure specializes in understanding an organization’s full spectrum of capabilities for bringing digital tools into its processes and culture.

With a career ranging from installation level asset management to enterprise strategy development, McClure recently has focused on shaping Federal Digital Twin policy through his recent past chair position leading the Digital Twin Integration Subcommittee with the National Institute of Building Sciences, and he has co-led the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Digital Twin Working Group to establish Digital Twin guidance in Department of Defense military construction projects. McClure takes a phased approach to implementing technology by leveraging demand signals on keystone issues to consolidate data systems and transition personnel gradually through milestones appreciated by end users.
