Become a Corporate Member of the buildingSMART alliance®

Participation in the Alliance identifies you as one of the people working towards solutions to significant problems in our industry and allows you to participate in the consensus process leading to national standards. Members take leadership or participate in various Alliance projects including standards development work. To become a contributing or sustaining organization click on the link at the bottom of this page to join the Institute as a member of the buildingSMART alliance®. You will be invoiced based on the level of contribution you indicate.

Memberships Annual Contribution

Sustaining Organization Membership

This membership is open to organizations in the public interest or industry sectors desiring to provide additional support for and participation with the Institute to achieve the goals and objectives established by U.S. Congress (Public-Law 93-383). Sustaining organizations may designate up to five individuals from their organization to be Institute Members.

Contributing Organization Membership

This membership is for organizations making a commitment to the Institute and its programs. Contributing organizations are accorded the same rights and privileges as sustaining organizations and such other rights and privileges as authorized by the Institute's Board of Directors.

All buildingSMART alliance members are eligible for:

  • Participation in bSa projects at various levels
  • Discounts on attendee registration fees at National Institute of Building Sciences events
  • Your membership helps support dissemination of products and information to the building industry including:
    • Journal of the National Institute of Building Sciences
    • United States National CAD Standard® (NCS) and National BIM Standard-United States® (NBIMS-US) Management and Dissemination
    • buildingSMART alliance®, NCS and NBIM-US™ website maintenance
    • Annual conference preparation
    • Support for Alliance projects and project promotion
    • Coordination with all organizations involved in BIM
    • Presentations, workshops and seminars organizations
