Board of Direction

The five-member Building Information Management (BIM) Board of Direction (BOD) provides vision, leadership, and operational guidance for the Council while ensuring effective management of resources to advance the vision of the Council.


  • Champion the Council's mission to industry and potential sponsors
  • Provide input to strategic direction and assist with prioritizing programs and activities
  • Cultivate a sustainable organization, developing programs and projects that meet the business objectives of sponsors and members
  • Provide technical and financial oversight of the Council projects, with support from the NIBS Board Liaison, and staff


Officers are elected from within the council membership through a nominations and election process, which includes nominations at-large and nominations from a Nominations Committee consisting of at least 3 members of the NIBS BIM Council.

Nominations Committee

The NIBS BIM Council Nominations Committee is appointed by the Chair of the BOD to administer the annual BIM Council BOD nominations and election. Officers are elected for a one-year term, which begins following the Annual Meeting of the Council.

Active membership in the NIBS BIM Council is required for nominations and participation in BOD elections.
