Chief Architect Les Shepherd to Address BEST2 Conference

Leslie L. Shepherd, AIA, Chief Architect, U.S. General Services Administration, will deliver the opening keynote address at the BEST2 conference on April 12, 2010, in Portland, OR. With more than 20 years of experience at the GSA, Shepherd, who has worked tirelessly throughout his career to raise the bar on federal facility design, oversees some $12 billion of GSA building projects.A graduate of Texas Tech University, Shepherd previously served as project manager for several local GSA projects.

The BEST2 conference will take place April 12 -14. Sponsored by the National Institute of Building Sciences, along with the Building Enclosure Technology and Environmental Council (BETEC), National Building Enclosure Council, Portland Building Enclosure Council, American Institute of Architects, U.S. Department of Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Construction Specifications Institute, this biennial event offers participants an expert focus on specific aspects of the performance of building systems with a view to high-energy efficiency, good indoor climate, and long-term performance.
