VA SECURITY CRITERIA:

VA contracted with NIBS to create a set of security standards and strategies for new and existing facilities, based on the VA Security Assessments. The NIBS-convened team of architects, engineers, security consultants, construction estimators, and a graphic designers has completed work on the two Physical Security Design Manuals, one for Mission Critical Facilities, and one for Life-Safety Protected Facilities. A separate manual was prepared with the cost estimates for new and retrofitted security standards for mission critical facilities. VA architects and engineers are finalizing their review and coordination with existing VA documents, strategies, design criteria, and specifications.
