Richard Paradis (right of center, wearing hat) models the pakol and shemagh (the traditional Afghan hat and scarf) that was given to him by this delegation of construction contractors from Afghanistan. Paradis gave a presentation on the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG) website to the delegation, which was visiting the United States under the Department of Commerce’s Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program. The group was particularly interested in the facilities operations and maintenance aspects of WBDG.
