December 7, 2011: Annual Meeting
The High Performance Building Council Annual Meeting was held Wednesday,
December 7, during the National Institute of Building Sciences Annual Meeting,
in conjunction with the Ecobuild America Conference in Washington, D.C. The
materials from the meeting are available through the following links:
Please review the Notes and Presentations for a summary of what transpired at
the meeting.
High Performance Standards Matrix Review:
A matrix of baseline and benchmark performance levels and corresponding
standards for the critical attributes that define high-performing building
enclosures was also released for review and comment at the meeting. Developed by
the High Performance Based Design for the Building Envelope (HPBDE) project,
this matrix advances the Council’s goal to identify and provide a reference for
performance levels and standards for all building systems and processes. With
its release at the meeting, the Council Executive Committee invited industry
review and comment on the information in the matrix. We asked that comments be
submitted in writing to Institute liaison Roger Grant
by the end of February 2012. A copy of the Matrix is available here:
January 30, 2012: High Performance Based Design Project Update:
Nearly final versions of the Owner’s Performance Requirements (OPR) Tool and
HPBDE Project Report were also reviewed at the Annual meeting. These are now
awaiting sponsor approval and will be released for industry use and review in
the coming weeks. When they are available, Council members will be invited to
use, review and comment on these works.
