FEMA E-74 Fourth Addition Now Available Electronically

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released FEMA E-74, Reducing the Risks of Nonstructural Earthquake Damage -- A Practical Guide, Fourth Edition. FEMA E-74 explains the sources of nonstructural earthquake damage in simple terms and provides methods for reducing potential risks. Intended for a non-technical audience, the guide explains the behavior of nonstructural components, provides survey and assessment procedures for existing buildings and discusses nonstructural risk reduction for existing and new buildings.

This electronic document, prepared by the Applied Technology Council (ATC) under the FEMA-funded ATC-69-1 project, updates the third edition of the document published in 1994. It includes a significant amount of new information and provides ease of browsing and printing.
