Coordinating Council

About the coordinating council

The National Institute of Building Sciences Coordinating Council was created in 2009 to serve as a venue for the Institute’s councils and committees to share information and coordinate efforts among the different Institute programs. Representatives from each of the Institute’s programs comprise the membership of the Coordinating Council. The Council examines programs and identifies areas of mutual interest. This enhances the ability to recommend areas of compatibility and coordinate efforts to improve synergy and produce outcomes that are more productive and valuable to the building community.  The Coordinating Council reports quarterly on the status of projects and programs and provides the Board of Directors with an overview of how the programs respond to the strategic direction set by the Board. As a result, the work of the Institute’s various programs and councils is more integrated and will continue as the shared common strategies and development proposals are discussed and evaluated.
