Written Testimony Due by August 2

Gordon Holness (clockwise left), a current member of the Institute Board of Directors and past president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); Ron Skaggs (second left), a past chairman of the Institute Board and past president of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); and Henry L. Green (third left), current president of the Institute and past president of the International Code Council, preside over the Institute’s hearing on commercial building data needs, held last week in Washington, D.C.
More than half of the 40 or so building industry participants in attendance provided oral testimony at the event. The hearing, convened in response to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) announcement that it would not release the results of its 2007 Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) or complete its 2011 Survey, brought together a wide range of industry input.
The deadline for submitting written testimony ends August 2. Upon the close of testimony, the Institute will produce a report on steps forward. Find out more about the initiative. View the Guidelines to submit testimony.
