The New Buildings Institute (NBI) and the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), are pleased to announce an upcoming workshop, Zeroing in on Schools: Transforming New and Existing K-12 buildings to Zero Energy, as part of the 2016 Getting to Zero National Forum, October 12-14, in Denver. The interactive workshop, to be held October 12, will bring together state energy and school officials, district administrators, facilities and construction managers, designer professionals and others to learn how to achieve zero energy status in both new and existing K-12 schools. The workshop is being sponsored and led by the U.S. Department of Energy, in partnership with NBI and RMI. The four-hour workshop will focus on design and construction strategies, operational techniques, policy approaches and cost considerations to achieve successful ZE projects and will spotlight a new DOE initiative to support states and districts. Attendees will utilize planning and technical tools for financing, planning, design, construction and operations.
